Outer quote mark The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a crisp, precise, gunflint-tinged bouquet that is beautifully defined and focused. The palate is very well balanced with a wonderful line of acidity. The judicious new oak (under 20%) just lends a little weight toward the finish. This is all about the tension and energy. A ridiculously good Les Referts from Domaine Bachelet-Monnot. (NM) Inner quote mark (12/2021)

Outer quote mark This too is firmly reduced and impossible to aromatically assess in this condition. There is both more volume and mid-palate density to the seductively textured and very punchy flavors that possess a sleek mouthfeel on the focused, long and beautifully well-balanced finale.
