The 2020 Altenberg Alte Reben GG is clear, bright, fresh and precise on the nose, with concentrated and flinty fruit aromas and notes of broken slate. Silky, crystalline and juicy on the palate, this is a very intense but filigreed and highly finessed Altenberg with a long and aromatic, salivating and highly stimulating finish. A gorgeous Altenberg again that reveals outstanding finesse. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2021. -

The 2015 Saar Riesling (Kanzemer) Altenberg Alte Reben has a deep, very clear and flinty flavored bouquet of perfectly ripe and aromatic, yet relaxed fruits. Round, lush and intense on the palate, with a ripe and concentrated Riesling fruit, this wine has a very fine acidity and crystalline minerality. This is a remarkably delicate, yet intense and well-structured Riesling with a stimulatingly salinity and grip in the finish. This is long and complex, very clear and crystalline; it displays perfectly ripe and concentrated Riesling flavors. The Altenberg is among the best dry wines from the Saar.
