Offering up aromas of cherries, sweet berries, warm spices and orange rind, the 2020 C?te de Nuits-Villages Meix Fringuet is medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant, with lively acids and melting tannins. It's a pretty, precise wine that was matured in a wooden tronconic tank this year.

Trapet harvested his 2019 Cote de Nuits-Villages Meix Fringuet in a more timely fashion than in 2018, and it has turned out beautifully, bursting with notes of raspberries, cherries, sweet soil tones and raw cocoa. It's medium-bodied, bright and chalky, with powdery tannins and a succulent core of fruit. As readers may remember, this derives from a 35-are parcel in Brochon below Les Evocelles.

Trapet was quite candid in admitting that he picked the 2018 C?te de Nuits-Villages Meix Fringuet a little late, and it's a bit of a stylistic outlier in the cellar this year, offering up a rich bouquet of cassis, mulberries, licorice and fruit compote. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it has a powdery chassis of tannin and an enveloping core of fruit. This derives from a 35-are parcel in Brochon below Les Evocelles.
