Offering up notions of white flowers, pear, mint and almond paste, the
2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Frionnes is medium too full-bodied, bright and
precise, with a crisp core of fruit, tangy acids and a chalky finish.
This, too, has turned out very well, defying any stereotypes of the
vintage. -

Harvested on August 26, Colin's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets bursts from the glass with aromas of peach, pear, yellow apples, freshly baked bread and nutmeg. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and youthfully introverted, with fine tension and back-end grip. This is very promising. -

The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos du Meix reveals aromas of yellow orchard fruits, iodine and chamomile, followed by a medium to full-bodied, glossy palate that's bright and incisive, with a pure core of fruit and a nicely defined finish. Colin notes that this is a cool terroir planted with a precociously ripening selection of Chardonnay.
