Aromas of mulberries, cherries, violets and spices introduce Hudelot-Baillet's 2018 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, a full-bodied, ample and enveloping wine that's velvety and elegantly muscular, with notable mid-palate volume, ripe but lively acids and a long finish. Powerful and youthfully primary, this will need and reward some time.

One of the highpoints of the range is the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, dark berries, baking chocolate, rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and complete, it's elegantly muscular, with fine concentration, powdery tannins and a penetrating finish. This will need some time, but it possesses both the balance and structure to develop with grace.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras is also showing well, mingling aromas of cherries and black raspberries with hints of licorice and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it has a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and powdery tannins that gently assert themselves on the finish.

There are fully thirteen barrels of the superb 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes, a promising wine that reveals attractive aromas of red cherries, wild berries, dried roses, sweet spices and dark chocolate.On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered,with good concentration, juicy acids and a penetrating finish.
