ギリシャ神話の昼の光の女神の意のエメラのように、明るく光り輝く時間を届けるシャンパーニュです。骨格と力強さを備える6つのグランクリュからブドウを厳選し、12年以上の瓶熟を経てからリリースされます。

Henriot's newly released 2006 Brut Cuvée Hemera is showing very nicely, offering up aromas of wheat toast, crisp stone fruit, dried white flowers, smoke and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, rich and enveloping, with a generous core of fruit, bright acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it concludes with a mouthwateringly sapid finish. The cuvée's rather reductive style marries well with the inherent opulence of the vintage, and it marks a notable step up over the inaugural 2005 in depth and concentration.

ド・スーザの娘が運営する別ブランドだそうです。ド・スーザ同様にビオデナミを採用しております。
味わいはちょっと濃い目でエレガントな泡立ちが上品さを醸し出しております。味わい深いスタイルです。
なんでもリザーヴワインは、同一タンクに20年来注ぎ足しているとの事でして　同シャンパーニュを訪問した輸入元の担当者がそのリザーヴワインを味わいったそうですが「滅茶滅茶美味しかった」と話してくれました。私もシャンパーニュの生産者を幾つか訪れた事がありますが、リザーヴワインを供されたことはありませんでしたので　とても興味深い体験談を聞けて良かったです。

Francis Egly has produced another profound Champagne with the 2013 Brut Grand Cru Millésime. If the monumental 2008 stands out for its power, structure and intensity, the 2013 is distinguished by its harmony, finesse and completeness; both vintages are very great wines but thus quite different in style. Wafting from the glass with scents of Anjou pear, crisp yellow apple, freshly baked bread, clear honey, iodine and fresh mint, it's full-bodied, ample and pillowy, with a layered, concentrated and effortlessly balanced core of fruit, uniting precision and sensuality to compelling effect. Girdled by racy acids and animated by a delicate pinpoint mousse, it concludes with a long, penetrating finish. Is this the most elegant wine Egly has produced to date? It's certainly among the most compelling that this high quality but initially underrated Champagne vintage has delivered.

Revisited from the July 2019 disgorgement, Egly's 2008 Brut Grand Cru Millésime was showing as brilliantly as ever. The wine seemed to shut down a little in early 2020, but it is already beginning to unwind, and this was the most expressive bottle that I've drunk to date. Offering up an incipiently complex bouquet of orchard fruit, citrus oil, pralines and freshly baked bread, now complemented by hints of iodine, clear honey and mirabelle plum, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with immense depth and concentration, racy acids and elegantly muscular structuring dry extract. Long and penetrating, as I've written before, this wine is a monument to what Champagne's grower revolution has achieved over the last 30 or so years.

A blend of the 2015 and 2014 vintages, Egly's emblematic NV Brut Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Les Crayères was disgorged this year with only one gram per liter dosage. Bursting with aromas of mirabelle plum, Anjou pear and green apple mingled with notions of freshly baked bread, honeycomb and praline, it's full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, its satiny attack segueing into a deep, layered mid-palate of striking texture and concentration. Concluding with a long, intensely saline finish, it's another brilliant wine from a great producer at the top of his form.

A benchmark bottling that's a staple of my cellar, newly disgorged Egly's NV Extra-Brut Grand Cru V.P. is a blend of the 2014, 2013 and 2012 vintages. Wafting from the glass with scents of pear, freshly baked bread, nougat, praline and clear honey, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with racy acids, chalky structure and a long, penetrating finish. Readers won't want to miss it.

Based on the 2016 vintage and disgorged in early 2022, Egly's NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru is now bottled in dark glass, protecting it from light strike. Bursting with aromas of pear, tangerine, cherries and toasted almonds, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and vinous, with racy acids and a long, sapid finish. This brilliant, characterful wine is worth a special effort to seek out.

Based on the 2017 vintage, Egly's NV Brut Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, freshly baked bread, lemon zest, tangerine and praline. Full-bodied, layered and elegantly muscular, with terrific concentration, racy acids and chalky structure, it concludes with a long, gently honeyed finish. Egly has always been enthusiastic about the quality of his Ambonnay fruit in 2017, and this bottling certainly validates his early confidence.

2020年ヴィンテージのアリゴテは上記の通り収穫量が多くなってしまい「Vin de France」になるため、収穫量が多いことを活かしてヴォルネー発信の新たな試みとしてスパークリングワインである「Petillant Naturel（ペティアンナチュレル）」を造りました。
これはシャンパーニュ方式のように蔗糖や酵母の添加は行わずにアルコール醗酵の途中で瓶詰して瓶内で醗酵が行われることで瓶内発泡をさせています。こちらも2020年ヴィンテージのみの限定生産になっています。
青りんご香に少し酵母香、泡立ちはとても繊細で滑らかな口当たり、フルーティで飲みやすく分かりやすい味わいになっています。

Clouet's NV Silver Brut Nature Grand Cru is a pure Bouzy Pinot Noir that was disgorged without any dosage. This disgorgement displays a medium intense golden color and a complex and refined bouquet of ripe and pureed apples and discreet chalky as well as brioche aromas. The palate is elegant, straight and fresh, very pure and salty on the finish. This is a challenging Brut Nature that needs to be aged for two or three years to gain complexity and finesse and to smooth its current edges. The finish is mineral, limestone and salty but also a bit drying at this moment.
